Marta
Birds save me everyday. They are the quickest door to the non-human World and birds are willing to keep our company. They were constant companions through way too many years at the univeristy while I studied illustration, paper making, bookmaking and environmental communication. Birds tend my heart while I work in a state of numb behind a computer.
Bird lovers make the best friends and through more than three years at Wild Birds Unlimited I have found this true with both employees and customers.
The wood ducks sneaking under the fence, the snipe courting along Wingra Creek, the line of circulating migrating vultures, the kettles of Broad-wing hawks, the secret water thrushes, and many others are great gifts.
The Timber Wolf Alliance allowed me to speak, the salamanders on Timber Lane taught me to care amidst sad realities. My greatest dream is to see the cranes on the Platte River. |
